Find a resort
with videoke
that actually works.

Hindi lahat ng resort na may "videoke" ay equal. Minsan it's a small room with a laggy TV. Minsan it's a full setup with speakers, a song book, and a mic stand. Here's how to tell the difference — and how DrawingTayo helps your group decide.

Videoke is a non-negotiable
for most Filipino groups.

For barkadas, families, and company teams, a working videoke setup is often what makes or breaks a resort booking. But the amenity isn't always what it sounds like — and knowing what to ask can save the organizer a lot of disappointing surprises on the day itself.

🎤
It's a group bonding anchor

Videoke is the one activity that gets everyone up, laughing, and singing together — regardless of age. Lolo, Tita, the quiet officemate — lahat sumali pag may mic.

📋
Not all setups are equal

Some resorts offer a built-in function room with full speakers and a wide song library. Others hand over a Magic Sing mic and call it a day. Knowing the difference matters before you commit.

🕐
Curfew and sound rules vary

Many resorts enforce a sound curfew — 10PM, 11PM, or midnight. If your barkada plans to sing past midnight, confirm the rules before booking to avoid awkward cut-offs mid-song.

Questions to ask every resort

✓  Ask the resort directly
  • Is the videoke set included in the reservation, or is there an extra rental fee?
  • What type is it — built-in function room system, or a portable Magic Sing / mic set?
  • How many microphones are available, and what song library does it use?
  • Is there a sound curfew? What time do they cut the music?
  • Can you use your own Bluetooth speaker or sound system?
  • Is the videoke area indoors, covered, or open-air?
⚠  Common disappointments to avoid
  • Assuming videoke is free — some resorts charge ₱500–₱1,500 extra for use
  • Finding out there's only one mic for a group of 20
  • Booking a resort with an 10PM sound curfew when you planned an overnight singing session
  • Discovering the "videoke room" is a tiny shared space with no AC
  • Song library that hasn't been updated in years — OPM hits missing, laggy machine

Types of videoke setups
you'll find in PH resorts

🏠
Function Room + Full System

A dedicated indoor function room with built-in speakers, multiple mics, and a proper song machine. Best for large groups, company outings, and overnight stays where singing is the main event.

Large groups Company outings Overnight
🎵
Covered Kubo or Pavilion Setup

Videoke set in an open-air or covered kubo area near the pool. Usually with portable speakers. Great for barkada day tours and beach resort vibes — but watch for the sound curfew.

🎙️
Magic Sing or Portable Mic

Common in smaller private pool resorts. Works fine for smaller groups, but song library and audio quality vary a lot. Worth confirming the model and library before arrival.
